So my poor fish Kermit died :(
He got tail rot, which is exactly how it sounds, which I tried to treat but he died anyway. So have had the water tested twice first time no go for new fish, my ammonia was high. Now slightly high pH but can get a new fishy so that Sharkbait is not all alone.
Got really attached to a kitten on the weekend, BF and I both loved her and got up the courage to ask the landlords if we could have her. She unfortunately got adopted later the same day. She did have a birth defect in her chest so hopefully she went to a home with more money in case she needs surgery, and it's not really the right time for us to get a kitten anyway. This is what my head tells me when I'm away from the kitten anyway...

Time is my Enemy!!
Time is my enemy.
I am in constant worry about completing everything I want to complete in my life. You only get one, and some things are better done while you are young.
I am already 23 and I feel like my life is running away. I possibly want to go back to uni, definitely want to travel. Would like to live overseas for a year, and get a job I love.
It's already May and I have to decide what I am doing next year, as was the deal with my boyfriend, and I have NO IDEA what to do. As I have mentioned before, I love Wellington if only I could find a job to do with my degree. But have also been thinking about going to Australia in order to get a job easier or to get into IVF, to do this I could go to uni in Melbourne, which costs 40,000 NZD AKA a house deposit. OR Maybe I apply to Oxford, hopefully get a scholarship and go there for a year. OR stay in NZ for now, maybe move city to get a better job. Maybe I change jobs do something totally different... e.g. sonography, a PhD.
Where is all my time!!!!

Half Marathon Complete!!
So half marathon was completed on Sunday! It was amazing, it's taken me a while to feel that way but it's just hit me. I ran 21 km! The hardest part was the last 3 km, which luckily my dad and bf ran with me. It went so fast, I challenged myself and I did it. No Stopping.

Love Affair
I'm having a love affair....
With Wellington.
I love the beautiful seascapes I get to see on my way to work or on a run. I feel like I'm in a postcard. I love the quirky shops down cuba street, the bright coloured sculptures and the general brightness.
I love finishing a run and being able to wade into the surf to cool down whilst watching someone play fetch with their labrodore. I love our cute little flat, I love our view, I love our deck.
I. love. it. here.
Had a particularly good weekend, went Christmas 'browsing' since I do not have enough money to go christmas shopping yet. Cuddled a puppy (a very cute and soft puppy), patted a very friendly rabbit. Bought our very own grown up christmas tree, yes it was fake but I challenge you to carry a real tree down 97 steps.
It still needs lights and a topper but it's getting there. Finished Saturday off with curry, a movie and starbursts. BLISS.
P.S I had to put the strings on 31 baubles, but nothing can ruin my xmas spirit

runner's blues
So on the 4th of December (11 days away), it is 12 weeks until the marathon I want to run.
.....and currently I am banned from running by the physio. I was allowed to go for an 'interval' run, 2min walking 1 min running, felt like such a loser cos everyone watching must of thought I was so unfit and lazy!
Not my fault people, not my fault.
But am starting to get seriously worried, that I'm not going to be able to start training in time :(
So haven't been able to make much progress on the to do list.
I had to find a GP in welly, and so I rang the closest medical clinic to me, and I get
"we're not taking any new patients outside of island bay"
"but you're my closest medical centre, where else should I go?"
" I don't know, ring A & E"
...bitch
I had to ring back and name drop my boyfriend, and call him my 'partner' *shudder*, to get in. I kid you not. It's like a bloody country club!

Update on To Do List
So it's been about a month and what progress have I made on the to do list.
I've got fishies!!! I'm pretty sure they're telescope eyes (love the name) but animates called them nymphs.
Turns out they're really hard to take pictures of. The orange and white one is "Sharkbait" and the black one is "Kermit". They're pretty lazy instead of swimming to the top to eat the food they wait for it to come to them and Kermit always missing the food and takes naps in the stones.
Also volunteer wise I have signed up with the SPCA to do volunteer work but still waiting to hear back.
And finally half-marathon, at the moment I am contemplating doing the Wellington round the bays in Feb. Also with this marathon there is the option to 'run for research' with the money going to the Malaghan Institute, which would:
1. Aid research in cancer, asthma, diabetes and MS
2. Help increase job positions for scientists struggling for jobs
Pretty good stint into the to do list me thinks
